Representatives of our company participated in a seminar in Belgrade called “PERC seminar: Role and responsibility of a competent person”, in accordance with the company’s efforts towards continuous improvement and following modern trends in our profession. Our representatives, executive director Mladen Lujić and chief geologist Aleksandar Kostić, attended this professional gathering, organized by the European Federation of Geologists, the Serbian Geological Society and PERC. The seminar is intended for companies and individuals, geologists and mining engineers, as well as individuals who hold positions of responsibility within companies for reporting on research results, resources and reserves of mineral raw materials.
At the seminar, our representatives had a unique opportunity to learn about PERC principles, standards, definitions, the scope of reporting, as well as the responsibilities and obligations of the companies themselves. Through a combination of theory and practice, the seminar provided significant insight into the content and dynamics of public reporting as well as the minimum competencies necessary for said reporting. The lecturer at this inspiring and educational seminar was Edmund Sides, a world-renowned geologist with more than 30 years of international work experience in the geological profession.
For our representatives, this seminar was a significant experience that provided them with clear guidelines for the further development of both the company’s competence and their own expertise.
“As a company, we strongly advocate for the perspective of ongoing enhancement and the application of new knowledge in our business. This seminar was an exceptional opportunity to learn everything important about PERC standards from a world-renowned expert in the field of geology. The knowledge from this seminar will surely help us in our future work,” Mladen Lujić, executive director of Lykos Balkan Metals, emphasized.
