With Danka Sukara and Sretenka Trifković, legal associates in our company, we talked about the nature of their job, the way they organize their work day, how much they enriched their work experience at Lykos, as well as how much they learned about the geological exploration.

What is your work day like?

Danka: My work day usually starts with the preparation of documentation for the daily planned activities and for work meetings with colleagues. During the day, I perform various tasks such as preparing documents, researching legal issues, meetings with colleagues, and cooperation with external collaborators and institutions.

Sretenka: It is interesting that almost no work day is the same. Considering that I am quite new in the Company, every day I learn new things and encounter challenges and new work tasks. However, there is a regular daily plan that helps me organize myself more easily and thus complete work duties more successfully. Therefore, the regular daily plan consists of reviewing the planned daily duties, performing them and finally planning the duties for the new work day. When performing work tasks, I often consult with a colleague from my sector, as well as colleagues from other sectors and superiors.

What do you consider the key qualifications for the job you do?

Danka: Key qualifications for this job include a thorough knowledge of the legal system, monitoring changes in the law, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills. In addition, a legal associate should be ethical, responsible, able to work under pressure and aware that only through dutiful work and an objective approach the demands of the profession can be met.

Sretenka: I believe that the key qualification for any job is the will to work. In addition, my profession is not only the application of what I have learned during my studies, but also finding an adequate way to harmonize theory, law and practice. Also, an important determinant of for efficient work performance is the experience gained through work and relations with both administrative and judicial bodies.

How much did you learn working at Lykos Balkan Metals?

Danka:A lot. Given that my previous work experience was in other areas, and more related to administration and institutions, working at Lykos, I learned a lot, not only about business and geological exploration, but also about specific legal issues related to this activity. Acquiring practical experience in different legal areas is extremely important for my further professional development, as it allows me to develop a wide range of skills necessary for successful work in the legal profession.

In addition, working in different legal areas allowed me to understand how the legal system works in practice, and how rules and regulations affect different types of business activities. This knowledge and experience helped me to be more efficient in my work and to better understand the needs of the company.

Sretenka: I learned a lot. Considering that before I was employed at Lykos Balkan Metals, I worked in a lawyer's office, working at Lykos is new experience and knowledge.

Before you came to the Company, did you know anything about geological exploration? How do you see this sector today?

Danka: Before I got a job at Lykos Balkan Metals, I was not familiar with geological exploration. However, after joining the company, I gained a better insight into this sector and realized their importance in terms of identifying, studying and evaluating mineral deposits. As for the work process itself, at Lykos we follow strict research protocols and standards.

Sretenka: Given that geological exploration is an activity about which the general public is poorly informed, I did not know much about it. However, when I came to Lykos, my colleagues gave me a lot of information about the profession itself, the work they do in the field, the projects they implement for the local community. Now it is much clearer to me that this is an activity that represents a serious investment and progress for our country.

How do you understand the responsibility that comes with your job?

Danka: As a legal associate, I am aware of the importance and responsibility of my job. This includes not only following all applicable rules and regulations, but also providing quality service and advice to the company I work for. The responsibility I bear includes respect for ethical standards and professional obligations related to the legal profession.

Just one of the examples I could cite is that the Company recently underwent changes in the Management Board. The new Management decided to withdraw all lawsuits in cases of protection against defamation and compensation for damages caused to the company. In this case, the company acted responsibly because relations with the community and all its representatives are important to us. In this way, we want to convey that we are open and transparent for conversations with everyone, that we want to talk directly and openly with all interested parties.

Sretenka: I believe that every serious job carries responsibility with it. As in all companies, key decisions are made by the management, but one of the advantages of our company is that we are given the opportunity to make independent decisions within our sector and profession.

This approach allows employees to take responsibility for their work, and allows the company to fully use the knowledge and abilities of its employees, all in the best interest of the company.

In the specific case of the withdrawal of the lawsuits mentioned by colleague Danka, the Company supported the position of the legal department that it is necessary to withdraw the lawsuits because we believe that it is in the company's interest to maintain good relations with the local community and build friendly relations that will be reflected in an easier transfer of information about the company's work as well as helping the local population. Although we believe that the bad treatment of our company in the previous period by various activists is completely unfounded, we have decided to withdraw all lawsuits to show that Lykos is a transparent company with good intentions, and that we are always available for all questions of all interested parties.

What do you particularly like about working at Lykos?

Danka: What I especially like about working at Lykos is the atmosphere in the company and the collective spirit. We are extremely committed to maintaining a positive work culture based on respect, understanding and cooperation. We work in an environment where knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas and creativity are encouraged. Lykos Balkan Metals also has a very clear vision and development strategy aimed at the long-term success of the company. This allows us to develop our skills and knowledge so that we can contribute to the achievement of those goals. All this together makes working at Lykos extremely interesting, challenging and dynamic. It is my pleasure to work in a company that has clear goals and strategy, and at the same time supports and develops its employees.

SretenkaIn Lykos, I like the energy of togetherness and team spirit. It's great to know you always have someone to lean on if you have any questions. Also, the high standards by which the Company operates are also important, because as an employee, I know that all my rights will always be respected.
