The micro-location of Fairy Beeches, near the village of Batotići in Čajniče, is a place of a natural phenomenon of beech trees. The uniqueness of these beeches lies not only in their branches growing towards the ground in a spiral pattern but also in their interwoven branches, giving rise to a third branch.
Not a single branch is straight for even half a meter!
The scientific process is currently underway to prove that this is an endemic species of beech, a type that cannot be found anywhere else except in the vicinity of Čajniče.
Legend has it that those who cut a branch of the Fairy Beeches will experience something unfortunate.
